Coming in Deactivated WWII US Springfield M1903A3

This is a rare WWII issued US Springfield M1903A3 rifle made by  L.C. Smith & Corona Typewriter Co. of Syracuse, N.Y. The date code on the barrel is 12-43 (December 1943), however the serial number confirms that this actual rifle was completed in early 1944. Smith-Corona only produced the M1903A3 from 1943 to 1944 making the fewest of any maker, completing just 234,580 rifles before the contract was cancelled in February 1944.
