A super condition WWII US Thompson 1928A1 Submachine gun. This model was made from August 1941 until October 1942 with their last M1928A1 completed on 15th October that year. Government documents show that the Bridgeport factory manufactured a total of 323,900 M1928A1 during this period. The letter S prefix in the serial number denotes that final assembly was at the Savage plant. On the left hand side of the receiver are the Army Inspector of Ordnance for the Rochester District were Lt. Colonel Ray L. Bowlin using the stamp, RLB from 1940, until 1942, along with the GEG (George E. Golland) and crossed cannons ordnance stamps. The wood work is in lovely condition, the gun is fitted with Cutts Compensator and fixed "Lymam"battle sights. This variant differs from other by virtue of a smooth barrel. Comes with canvas sling and 20 round stick magazine. Deactivated to UK specifications.
