This is a superb condition WWI & WWII regimentally marked Austrian Steyr M95/30 Cavalry Carbine - straight pull bolt action. The original WW1 marks have been over stamped by the Austrian Eagle proofs and 1936 date refurbishment stamps. On the butt plate are the regiment initials ""28P 584" - 28th P = Pionier Bataillon, number 584. In 1930 most M95 rifles were converted to the more powerful 8x56R M30 ammunition and marked with the letter "S". This carbine comes fitted with a rare period correct leather sling.
