This is an early WWII Nazi MP40 submachine gun dating to 1941. This variant is referred to as the "slabsided" by virtue of the flat sided magazine housing. It is also fitted with an even earlier MP38 bolt with curved cocking handle. The makers code "bnz" is that of Steyr who used Waffen acceptance WaA623. The slabsided variant was short lived being replaced by the "ribbed" version which is found on the majority of MP40s. The cherry coloured Bakekite foregrips are in lovely original condition. This example has definitley seen action as is to be expected from an early war issued weapon.
