Very Rare Original WWI Mauser C96 'RED 9' Grips

An original matched pair of First World War Mauser C96 "Red 9" pistol wooden grips. These grips were marked with a number 9 painted in red to signify that the pistol was chambered in 9mm ammunition rather then the standard 7.63mm. These grips were originally on pistol number 22,532 with the correct amount of grooves (30). The known serial range used by Mauser was 1 to 131,595. Unusual and far less common, the '9' has been engraved higher up on these grips. Mauser are known to have produced variations on various parts, sometimes experimenting during production.
