A First World War BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Co) SMLE MKIII* , chambered in .303. Dated 1917, the serial number D50479 appears on the bolt, barrel, receiver, nose cap and wood work. The bolt is the correct early type. The SMLE is synonymous with the WWI British soldier and is still considered by many to be one the best military bolt action rifles ever made. This rifle was also issued to Australian forces during WWII and was marked with their ownership stamp D/I\D (Department of Defence with a broad arrow acceptance stamp). The unit / regiment numbers 3 over 79164 appear on the stock and receiver. After the war it was put into storage and remained there until recently when it was brought back to the UK. The bore is in super condition and the rifle has recently been reproofed and is ready to shoot!! A great opportunity to own a 101 year old British military service rifle that would have been used in both world wars! It comes fitted with an original WWII dated sling.

A section 1 firearms license with the correct variation is required to purchase this rifle.
