Product Information

Enfield Martini Henry MKIV 1 under lever rifle dated 1887 and chambered in the mighty .577/450. Lots of war department (WD) and broad arrow stamps. This example is marked 1908 Madras Arsenal with Arabic or Sanskrit characters accompanying. Although the Mark IV was produced from 1888 to 1889, some examples are seen with 1886 and 1887 dates. The reason for the early dates is that these weapons were converted from early Enfield-Martini Mark Is. This rifle being one of them. Martini rifles, like this one are being captured and brought back from Afghanistan where many are still in use by the Taliban today. The bore is still in great condition with good strong rifling throughout, and the action is crisp and smooth. This lovely rifle is chambered in an obsolete calibre and can therefore be owned live without any form of license.
