Very rare early Japanese type 30 Arisaka rifle.
The type 30 is named that way because it was designed in the 30th year of the Meiji Restoration, which means it was designed in 1897.
It was used in the first world war, Russo-Japanese War, and later in Finland. A quantity of these rifles were sold to the British government for use during the first world war. This is a museum worthy example of this early Japanese rifle and is in remarkable condition with crisp markings and excellent woodwork. The stock is not split, it was the way these Arisakas were manufactured. Deactivated with a working action.
