One of the best known pistols in the world, the Luger fired the 9 mm parabellum cartridge which is now the most widely used sub-machine gun and pistol cartridge in the world. The pistol was adopted by the German Army in 1908 and remained their standard pistol until 1938, when the Walther P38 arrived on the scene. A favourite souvenir with allied troops especially American GIs. It still remains a classic and a sought after collectors item.
