An excellent pair of engineer made Colt Percussion Revolvers apprentice pieces in metal and brass. These are not antique or cheap replicas and they are not deactivated as they are not completed (they have no cylinder rotation arm and the barrels are not bored all the way through) so they do not require a license.
They work in every other way and fully strip down. The cylinder is stamped COLT PATENT 12814 on one and 12815 on the other. This serial number is stamped on all other parts as it should be.
The frame is stamped MODEL 1848. The pair of revolvers are in a wooden display box with an oval brass cap tin with caps, a two piece cleaning rod, a nipple key, a bullet/ball mould and a turn screw.
A fantastic pair of display pistols at a fraction of the price of an antique pair.
