A lovely original condition, matching numbers, WWII Nazi Browning High Power pistol. As the war deepened the need for more firearms to be made quicker escalated. To help fulfil this requirement weapons processes were made simpler. Often simplifying, eliminating or omitting parts and processes from the build. This happened with the Belgium High Power pistol. Early examples were to a high quality finish and standard similar to a commercial pistol. As these changes were implemented the Nazi's would change the Waffen acceptance code accordingly, and in 1942 ''hi powers' were recoded WaA140. Dating this one  to 1943 production. It also bears Austrian proof stamps (Proof Crest (Vienna) NP BDR) and may well have been issued there whilst under Nazi occupation.  The pistol has its original finish, magazine and wooden grips. Deactivated with a working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
