Product Information

A lovely original condition First World War Imperial German army Luger. Dated 1916 and manufactured by DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken). This super example is just number 14 from a batch produced that year. All parts are number 14 except for the magazine which coincidentally is also from the same batch and carries the same letter suffix as the pistol. The trigger, take down lever, safety lever and extractor etc still retain their original straw blued finish. The right side of the frame is correctly stamped the Imperial German army acceptance markings and finish is still very crisp considering it is 99 years old. As a rule, Lugers manufactured post 1916 were of a lesser quality. The emphasis then was more on numbers over finish. Huge quantities were lost during the horrendous conditions of the Great War with very few now surviving an to see one in such complete and original condition is a real find. Deactivated with a working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
