Product Information

Deactivated WWII Maxim Machine Gun dated 1943 with matching number on virtually every part. Invented by Hiram Maxim in 1883, this was the first true heavy machine gun. It was capable of firing 500 rounds per minute. Used in both WWI and WWII. This one is fitted with a "snow hoper". Instead of using water to keep it cool during constant or sustained fire, the Russian would use snow to prevent overheating. Simple, but clever. Comes with ammo can, 250 round belt, inert rounds, canvas carrying bag and transit case. Deactivated with a working action can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Would make an excellent centre piece in any collection .
